Bholu Anganwadi Project

After our trip last month, we have decided to rebuild our two favourite anganwadis in Tekra, Ahmedabad. While we were there, we spoke with Manav Sadhna and met with contractors and village people to organise how to go ahead with the rebuild.
These two anganwadis are the poorest in this slum community and they are the 2 we have been visiting and working with for the last 3 years.
Anganwadi #1 is made of scrap corrugated tin pieces for the walls and ceiling and is about 2m x 4 m in area. It is too small for the 40 children that attend, it has no water, electricity and has no ventilation.
Anganwadi #2 is made of brick, but has only a tiny window, has no cross ventilation, is too small and has no electricity or water.
The learning equipment needs replacing in both anganwadis.
More updates on the building plans soon.
